shint filter freezes if result does not end with a newline

We are matching prompts after a newline. But if bash response doesn't end with a newline, prompt shows up at end of result rather than at start of a new line, and shint filter just hangs.

Added a newline to PS1 - may be able to remove extra lines or find better regexp match.
